I live in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. I am in mid life and it is an exciting time of creativity for which I am very grateful.

I work half-time (every other week) as a court stenographer. My off weeks are filled with domestic stuff, writing, drawing, composing, reading, sewing, peddling books at craft fares and our historic city market - lots of things that I enjoy.

My husband Tim and I play in a band with a local artist, Stephanie Mainville, and together we lead worship here and there. Tim has a recording studio, Ripple Effect Music.

Unlike most writers I have met or read about, I had never thought to be a writer nor imagined that other people would be reading my words - and even enjoying them! It began about 12 years ago when songs came into my head, both melodies and lyrics. I wrote these down, thankful for my early years in choirs and playing the french horn. These songs were mostly prayers and worship so I enjoyed using them in my devotional times with God.

In 2003 one of these songs, Heart of the Heavens, was published and recorded by Vineyard Music Canada. This particular piece started out as a lovely Celtic melody that I carried around for about two years until one day when I found a poem of my daughter Emily's lying on the computer printer. I incorporated her words into a song and we were very pleased with the result.

I also made a practice of recording dreams and keeping a daily journal, partly because I have a frighteningly poor memory, but also because I felt that at least some of these things were not merely my own thoughts but were better than that - higher - that God was prompting me to think them. I took up the word repository as my title, you might say. It means: someone to whom something is confided or entrusted. I felt that if God were deigning to communicate with me in these ways I'd sure better do my part by recording them and enjoying them over and over.

That was not the end of the story, though. In the spring of 2003, just as Heart of the Heavens was coming out, I had a dream and, as was my custom, typed it into my computer. The dream consisted of two parts of a story, and since I was off work that week, I expanded on the dream. The first day I wrote 4,000 words. Day two I was up to 11,000. Tim said, "Just keep going", so I did. In under four months the whole of Hear Heaven was written.

I printed it for a few friends to read. They encouraged me to get it published. Peter Fitch pointed me in the direction of Vineyard International Publishing, and that partnership continues, with Heaven's Tears having been published in November 2006 and Heaven Knows in May 2008.

As well, Tim has produced a CD of my songs, titled Heart of the Heavens, which was released in November 2008 and is available through this web site.

As I mentioned above, the 40's (and now the 50's) have been an amazingly creative time of life for me, a marked contrast to my 20's and 30's which were clouded and dulled by depression. I have so much to praise God for - salvation and relationship with Him through Jesus Christ, a husband who is deeply committed to God and to me, two amazing children who are making their way in the world, and now these different avenues of creative expression. What fun!

Thanks for taking the time to read my story. May God bless you today and always with the light of His face shining down on you and on your path.
